Starting in the sixteenth century,
this Talk provides a historicial look at the British explorers
who sailed to what is now the USA,
hoping to establish colonies in the “New World”.
As we approach the 400th anniversary of the departure from Plymouth
of the Pilgrim Fathers on the Mayflower, this talk also covers four
earlier expeditions that led to transient settlements in North Carolina,
Massachusetts, Maine, and Virginia (where Pocohontas lived).
The PowerPoint presentation includes interesting facts
about the people who were on board those early sailing ships,
and the colonies they established.
